Palimpsests

Palimpsest is the name given archaically to writing that has been scratched out, and the substrate material overwritten with new words or images. These palimpsests have been made by translating bits of text (eg Homer, the Bible, Kahlil Gibran etc) and creating the underwriting, and adding over printing of writing and or geometric imagery.
