The Ghost Dance

Tricia is now working on a new collection called The Ghost Dance.

MARRIAGE LINES 1940

In wider worlds that she has never seen

with strange disease-like names, in discontent,

he waits for something that has never been.

She has a photograph, he’s dressed in green.

She reads occasional letters that he’s sent

from wider worlds that she has never seen.

When he comes home he’ll tell her of the scene

of fight and fear and disillusionment.

She waits for something that has never been.

Between the lines, she reads of threats, those keen

exotic girls, a drop of female scent

from wider worlds. But she has never seen

that when he reads her letters he will lean

and kiss the page. His mood is violent

and waits for something that has never been.

He’ll come to her, a private war within,

all ill at ease, as if still in the tent

of wider worlds. And they have never seen

they wait for something that has never been.

The Opium Fish is Tricia’s first solo collection. Initially published by Flarestack Poetry it has been reprinted by Griffin Press.

Rubin’s Figure

I am married to the poet Michael Henry who has 6 collections out; 5 with Enitharmon Press and 1 with Five Seasons Press. (www.michaelhenry.org.uk)

Rubin’s Figure was printed by The Old Police Station Press – the small pamphlet profiles poems about the same events on facing pages: two voices, one subject.

This booklet will be expanded and reprinted later in 2015 by Griffin Press.

Both Michael and Tricia are available for readings and workshops.
